CSI Bankruptcy

CSI Bankruptcy, Even though his monthly salary is almost $15,000, “CSI:Crime Scene Investigation” star Gary Dourdan, who portrays Warrick Brown on the popular show, has had to file for bankruptcy.

Dourdan’s financial spiral downward started two years ago when he was sued over a credit card balance.

Just this summer, Dourdan took legal action to prevent his mortgage holder from foreclosing on his Venice Beach, California home. Bankruptcy papers reveal that the actor has approximately $1.8 million in assets, but owes almost that same amount to banks and credit card issuers.

TMZ Summarizes money woes:

A large chunk of that debt — $1,689,704 million — is owed to various banks, including Union Bank, which apparently holds the mortgage on his home that may be in default.

As for his assets — $200 cash, $3k in a bank account, $4k in furniture, $200 worth of books, $1,500 in clothes, $500 in watches … oh and a 2006 Dodge Charger worth $7,000.

Furthermore, Dourdan claims his disposable income is now just $321 a month. The actor says his bills ($14,562 a month) eat up just about all of the $14,883 he pulls in on average.

Drug use has appeared to play a problem in Dourdan’s money mismanagement troubles, since he was first arrested back in 2008 after an auto accident with assorted illegal drugs in his possession.

Just one year ago, Dourdan was arrested after neighbors called the police to intervene in a fight with his girlfriend and Dourdan was ordered to stay away from her for a 36 month period.
