Baby On Runway , A woman with a history of mental problems is in custody after she reportedly drove through security gates at Phoenix Sky Harbor International

Airport and went then continued out onto the runway, reportsExaminer. The 21-year-old woman, named Koko Nicole Anderson, drove into the airport with her two-month-old little boy on Thursday at about 10 p.m.

The gates to the airport were at least partially open when Anderson drove her vehicle through them and took a joyride on the runway.

There were no crews or airplanes on the runway during the incident, airport officials said. It took officials about 15 minutes to get Anderson to stop the vehicle and to take her into custody.

“We don’t believe her intent was to harm here,” police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said. “We believe it’s impairment and poor decision making.”

The mother of the driver has confirmed that Anderson has had trouble in the past with bipolar disorder, and said she did not believe the woman even realized her son was still in the vehicle. The baby was uninjured and is with relatives.
