Free money ATM, I just had to share this story…this happened at Glasgow in Scotland. Do you see the lengthy queue formed in this photo?
Well, some people had gone to an ATM in Burnside, Glasgow to withdraw some cash, when they noticed the ATM was dispensing double the amount of money requested by customers making withdrawals.
Word of the fault quickly spread as a picture of the queue at the bank machine was posted on Twitter. Excited customers flocked to the Bank of Scotland ATM for a share of the windfall.
The Police were later alerted and they stood guard at the cashpoint until the bank could shut down the machine.
One user, Lauren, tweeted: ‘The bank of Scotland at Burnside was giving out double money now police are standing there so no one can go to it #gutting’.
A disappointed Mark Gallagher, who uses the Stonelaw Road branch, tweeted in response: ‘I was elsewhere’.
The Bank of Scotland was eventually able to switch off the machine remotely after being alerted about the costly blunder. It said it was unlikely to take action because of the difficulty of tracing all the payments dispensed that afternoon.
I know you wished this could also happen in Naija right?…LOL!!…Ole! At least we now know that oyibo also like awoof.
