The Black Friday 2012 ads are out, what are the best toys of the holiday season? Walmart, Toys R Us and Target all have pages online dedicated to their toys, and Walmart surveyed 1,000 children, ages 3-13, and their parents to decide what the hottest 20 toys of the holidays will be for 2012.
On the top of the list is Furby. After 14 years in retirement, Furby is back. He's one of several retro toys that are expected to be on wish lists this holiday season.
According to the Desert News:
"Hasbro's interactive creature has evolved a bit. It/he/she still speaks Furbish initially and interacting with humans will teach Furby to speak English. Feed it, love it, play music for it. Human interaction determines the creature's personality. Now, you can get a free app to help translate Furbish and virtually feed it. Works with iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone with iOS 4.2 or later. MSRP: starts at $59.95."

Also hot this season, the Leapfrog LeapPad 2.
The toy is a learning table (some call it the iPad for Kids) and has front and back cameras, video recorders, 4GB of memory and an improved processor. There are more than 300 game cartridges and downloadable apps. MSRP: $99.95

Another really hot toy for kids is the Wii U from Nintendo.
New videogame consoles are always hot, and Nintendo’s Wii U is no exception. This could be a good contender for a truly hot toy. Online pre-orders sold out quickly, but that could be a factor of limited pre-order supply rather than true demand.
Suggested Price: $299.99-$349.99

Squidoo notes a helpful tip:
"Demand for these toys will be especially high during the Christmas holiday shopping season so shop early to avoid disappointment."
