Atlanta Helicopter Crash 2 Killed

Atlanta Helicopter Crash 2 Killed, The NYC Marathon was canceled because of Hurricane Sandy, but that doesn't mean there is nothing for runners to do Sunday in New York City. Here is what 2009 marathon champ Meb Keflezighi told Kelly Whiteside about his plans:
"I want to work with somebody. I don't mind going to Staten Island (which was greatly affected by the storm.) If I cannot run, I want to be positive. Or go to Central Park and let the runners know it's OK. I don't know. It's my first Sunday off in many years. How can I help?"

Good idea, right? Well this is what NYC Marathon volunteers heading to Staten Island looks like. Chills.

This is just so awesome.

Thousands more gathered in Central Park for the "Run Anyway" NYC Marathon. More from the AP:

"A lot of people just wanted to finish what they started," said Lance Svendsen, who organized an alternative marathon called Run Anyway. By 8:45 a.m., his group had sent off five waves of runners from the marathon's official finish line, which had not yet been taken down. "It is amazing. My guess is about 600 people have left so far."
