Weird Xray Auctions

Weird Xray Auctions - The X-ray pinup calendar, Beauty that's more than skin deep; Apple clears an iPhone app aimed at curing erectile dysfunction; a car for the blind and Marylin Monroe's chest X-rays bust an auction wide open. Beauty that's truly more than skin deep.

German imaging display manufacturer EIZO put out a pinup calendar. Thanks to our friends at MedGadget.com, you can see the calendar images. We're not sure if it's NSFW, but be warned: These models literally bare it all.

The iPhone app for ED

Erectile dysfunction is big business. Just ask Pfizer, Eli Lilly or any other company looking to break into the $3.8 billion sexual disorder market. So it's easy to see the reasoning behind Health Code's "Fire Up Your Sex Drive" app for the iPhone, as reported by CNET. The $2.99 program aims to "enhance" male sexuality by more than 85 percent, using "a kind of high-frequency alpha wave to synchronize with your own brain wave."

A car for the blind?

Researchers are planning to demonstrate a car for the blind next year, according to this Associated Press report, equipped with "nonvisual interface" technology that uses sensors to let a blind person drive. The laser sensors and cameras act as the eyes of the car, while a vibrating vest directs the driver to accelerate, slow down and turn.

Monroe chest X-rays bust pre-sale estimates

As usual when it comes to the pinup set, Marylin Monroe got their first. A set of three X-rays of Marilyn Monroe's chest taken during a 1954 hospital visit sold for $45,000 in a Las Vegas auction, according to the BBC, busting their $3,000 pre-sale estimate.
