Part of star's dress missing,If Vanessa Hudgens hasn't yet picked out her Halloween costume, we suggest that she re-wear what she had on last night, apply some white foundation, and go as a sexy Morticia Addams. The 23-year-old star, who used to be all pigtails and cardigans in the "High School Musical" TV movies, showed some serious skin on the red carpet at the premiere of "The Carrie Diaries" at the New York Television Festival on Monday night. Her little black dress seemed to be missing the middle section.
The long sleeve For Love & Lemons Moonlight mini, which retails for $189, boasted cutouts on either side that extended well into the back.
In front, there was a see-through crocheted panel that ran from the neckline to her waist.Halloween has clearly been inspiring Hudgens' fashion choices lately. Typically known for her boho style, she's been wearing a series of all-black outfits this month, including a long black strapless dress on Sunday while out with boyfriend Austin Butler in Manhattan, and an odd velour and lace turtleneck top at the screening of "Seven Psychopaths" on October 10. And at a party for Reebok last week, she had on a skull and crossbones sweatshirt — with a lovely little twist.
Hudgens, who has four films in the works including "Spring Breakers" and "Machete Kills," recently said that she's still trying to break away from the Disney teen character that made her famous. "'High School Musical' was incredible, and it was so fun, and it gave me so many fans which I'm very, very thankful for. But it also closed people's minds up as to which characters I could portray.
They only saw me as Gabriella Montez and I love that character but there's so much more to me than just that. So for a while I was kind of struggling and fighting for these roles that I just desperately wanted," she told Untitled magazine last month. "Definitely crossing over and being able to tackle these grittier parts was a challenge, but I feel like I've done it! It's a whole new chapter!"
