Nicki Minaj Satan, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj notoriously didn't get along throughout their one-season stint on American Idol, and earlier this week she told an interviewer that her time on Idol "was like going to work every day in hell with Satan". Now, Carey's husband, Nick Cannon, is coming to her defense.
"I told you guys she hated it," Cannon tells Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live. Cannon isn't surprised that his wife is speaking out against her short-lived reality TV home, but he does clarify that he doesn't think Carey was talking about anyone in particular in her comments.
"That's not a forum for the biggest superstar in the world, in my opinion," he says. "I don't even think it's about the people on the panel. If you pay attention to what she was saying, she said it's about when someone tells you something and paints a picture one way, and that's not the case."
