Presidents who were farmers

Presidents who were farmers, Farming presidents This Democratic president (from which state?) ran the family farm (what did they grow?) before entering state politics and eventually winning the presidency in 1976. Who was his opponent?

Today is Presidents Day in the United States, a day designated to honor the 43 men who have held our nation’s highest office since 1789.Of the 43 presidents, seven of them were farmers.  The first was George Washington.

The most recent was Jimmy Carter, who was a chapter FFA officer.  John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Polk, Theodore Roosevelt (who owned two ranches in the Dakotas), and Harry S. Truman were the others.
