NFL Newtown Decal, Several NFL teams are planning to where Newtown decals on their helmets today to honor the victims of the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
According to Reuters, the New York Giants, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots will wear a special Newtown decal on their helmets during their game today. The Giants and Jets will have the letters “S.H.E.S.” for Sandy Hook Elementary School on their helmets today.
The NFL also said that all home teams would be observing a moment of silence before kickoff today.
The Patriots, who host the 49ers today, said that they have planned a 26 flare salute for the victims. The Patriots will send up 26 flares, one for each person who was killed at the elementary school last week, during the pre-game show.
Before the Chicago Bears game, the announced asked the audience to stand for a moment of silence. The announcer said: “Please join in a moment of silent reflection for the victims, their families, and loved ones.”
The shooting in Newtown, Connecticut left 26 people dead. The majority of the victims were children under the age of 7. (You can see photos of all the people who lost their lives during the shooting here.)

LeBron James wrote on Twitter: ”Basketball, this is nothing. These games are nothing compared to when you have a tragedy like that.”
