Norv Turner Fired?

Norv Turner Fired? Decision final this time for Chargers coach, San Diego Chargers coach, Norv Turner, will be fired at the end of this football season, according to NFL.com Dec. 6. General manager, A.J. Smith, will also be fired.

Last year Turner's coaching position was hanging by a thread as the possibility Chargers president, Dean Spanos, was going to let him go then. He changed his mind and chose to keep him on with the football team.

"Those with knowledge of plans that are already in motion said it seems certain there will be no last-minute change of heart this time," Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego said.

Apparently the Chargers president "essentially decided at least a month ago" to fire Norv Turner as well as A.J. Smith.

Smith's draft classes have left a lot to be desired and he's said to have run off talented veterans of the team.

Turner has been blamed for low enthusiasm with fans and lackluster ticket sales. The decreased support was especially prevalent in the last two home games, CBS8.com reports. His strength as an offensive coordinator wasn't enough to keep him from being fired by the end of the season.

A 17-year employee of the Charger's player personnel -- Jimmy Raye -- is expected to replace Smith.
