Gangnam Style Anti-American, The news broke today, December 7, 2012, that the rapper Psy, famous for the viral video, "Gangnam Style," had previously performed anti-American rants. These disgusting insults were directed to our military and performed as recently as eight years ago. Psy, Park Jae-Sang is scheduled to perform for President and Mrs. Obama at Christmas in Washington on December 13, 2012, filmed at the National Building Museum.
As the news spreads of the venomous rhetoric he has performed against our American soldiers, it is possible that his appearance may generate a great deal of protest. According to the website, Mediate, Psy rapped the following vitriol in 2004, at a protest concert against the presence of U.S. troops in Korea. It was part of a song entitled, “Dear American:”
Kill those fucking Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives
Kill those fucking Yankees who ordered them to torture
Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers
Kill them all slowly and painfully
Two years prior to this he had thrown a toy replica of an American tank on the ground and stomped it as the crowd cheered, according to Newser.com.
The South Korean rapper’s YouTube video of “Gangnam Style” has surpassed Justin Bieber’s video popularity, becoming YouTube’s #1 video. As the popularity of the silly “Gangnam Style” dance move has spread, even military personnel and United Nation officials have been featured enjoying the fad. Of course, that was done unknowingly before the news of his previous anti-American rants against the U.S. military were made public.
TNT is airing the Christmas in Washington concert, and it will be presented the next week, December 20, 2012, at 8 p.m. It will be interesting to see whether Psy’s anti-American activity will affect his appearance at this momentous event. Do you think he should still be allowed to perform in our national Christmas in Washington performance for the President? Leave a comment below with your opinion about this issue.
