Justin timberlake on miley, Miley Cyrus’ extremely raunchy performance at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sunday set tongues wagging – although none quite as much as her own.

But not all of those who have an opinion on Miley’s rendition of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines are slamming the 20-year-old for the oversexed routine. Justin Timberlake, himself a former Disney star, has defended the Hannah Montana actress.

It’s the VMAs, what did you guys expect? I like Miley, I like her a lot,’ he told Fresh 102.7 in a radio interview on Tuesday.

‘She’s young, she’s letting everyone know she’s grown up. It’s the VMAs. It’s not like she did it at the Grammys.’
But Justin, who reunited with the rest of NSYNC for a much more PG-rated performance at the ceremony, did admit he has been tickled by some of the pictures that have been doing the rounds on the internet.

‘My favourite part of the Miley Cyrus performance is the Smith family reaction,’ Justin said, referring to a still of Will, Jada, Jaden and Willow looking shocked as they took in the events unfolding in front of them.

While the image went viral, MTV confirmed it was in fact taken of the famous family when they were watching Lady Gaga’s performance of her song Applause.

‘I was late to the game on that. I was just shown that this morning, so it’s fresh in my mind,’ Justin, 32, added.
The Friends With Benefits actor was also quick to point out that Miley isn’t exactly the first person to bring shock factor to the bash, even citing his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears for courting controversy.
‘Madonna: Wedding suit, humping the stage. Britney: Strip tease,’ Justin said. ‘This is not an uncommon thing. I actually thought all the bears were really cool!’

Miley kicked off her time on stage by belting out her hit We Can’t Stop while dressed in a bear leotard and surrounded by dancers with huge teddy bears strapped to their backs.

She then stripped to nude latex underwear to show off her twerking skills and grind up against Robin – and a foam finger – after he joined her on stage.

Justin scooped four moonmen trophies at the awards:  Video Of The Year for Mirrors, Best Editing for Mirrors, Best Direction for Suit & Tie (director David Fincher), and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
