Kelly LeBrock: Divorce from Steven Seagal made me a 'hermit, Kelly LeBrock made a name for herself as a model in the 1970s and an actress in the 1980s, starring in film's like "Woman in Red" and "Weird Science." But when her marriage to action star Steven Seagal -- now fighting crime in Louisiana and hanging out with Vladimir Putin -- failed in 1996, LeBrock moved her whole life from Los Angeles to a farm in Santa Barbara.
"I became a hermit," she told the Daily Mail in a rare interview on Wednesday. “I feared everything and didn’t want to leave the house."
When I split with Steven, the divorce was very ugly, and details of the case were on the evening news. I didn’t want my kids seeing it, so I simply got rid of the TV. I moved my kids out of L.A. so they could grow up with real people -- the kids of gas pump attendants, plumbers and real family people.
LeBrock will describe her experiences in an upcoming memoir that was "painful" to write, though she's happy that "the truth will finally come out."
Now 53, LeBrock said her life of fame led her down a dark path with drugs. Her marriage to Seagal may have even been violent -- she hints at a "horrendous incident" with now-61-year-old that led them toward divorce.
For now, the former actress said her farm keeps her healthy and occupied. She has a horse, pigs, vegetable garden and even makes her own cheese.
