Willie Robertson No Beard

Willie Robertson No Beard
Willie Robertson No Beard, Long beards are definitely the trademark of the Robertson men on A&E’s hit show, ‘Duck Dynasty.’ Their excessive facial hair makes them who they are, but in a Parade interview dated Wednesday, March 20, Willie gives a reason for their beards, as well as details that fans may not know.

"The original purpose of the beards was to help with the wind when it's blowing in your face. When you're out there in the woods hunting like we are all the time, we found that facial hair helps you to stay a lot warmer. That's where it came from, and it morphed into the look we have now. Somebody once asked my dad, 'How long have you been growing that beard?' He said, 'I ain't growing it. It's doing that on its own,” the Duck Commander CEO told Parade.

It is clear that the duck men are confident in their look, and aren’t about to change it to appease anyone. Their unique style makes them different in a “cookie-cutter” society. However, the beards look uncomfortable to viewers. ‘Duck Dynasty’ fans often wonder how the men are able to tolerate their long beards in the excessive Louisiana heat. Willie had an answer for that as well.

"Once you get used to it, it's not bad. I think 1988 was the last time Phil shaved his beard. He lost a bet to a preacher, shaved his beard, and wore a suit and he said he'd never do it again. When [my brother] Jase and I were younger and running the business, we thought we had to clean it up and put suits on to have business meetings with big companies. But about eight years ago, I told Jase, 'Forget that. Let's just go like we normally are,” shared Robertson.

Whether or not the Robertson men will ever shave has crossed the mind of ‘Duck Dynasty’ fans throughout the show’s airing. Though he likely cannot speak for all of them, Willie himself has no desire to ever shave it all off.

"No, no. Sometimes in the heart of the summer, I look at people with their faces shaved and think it'd be nice, but once you get used to it, it's not as hot. Most guys say it gets itchy, but once you grow it out into a big man beard, the itching is gone,” continued Willie.

As stated on a previous episode, Korie and Jessica love their men’s beards. While Missy didn’t flat out say she doesn’t like Jase’s beard, viewers were led to believe that she isn’t as much of a fan of unruly beards as her sister-in laws. She maintained that being used to the beard, and liking the beard is two different things.

In his Parade interview, Willie shared that re-confirmed that his wife Korie does indeed like his beard.

"She likes it. As long as the checks keep rolling in, she keeps liking that beard more and more, the more successful we get. In fact, the last time I shaved, she said, 'I think you should just grow it back.' And I don't know what she was saying, whether my face didn't look quite like it used to or she just really liked it, but she's used to it. My youngest child has never seen me without it, and the last time I shaved, my older son started crying because he was used to the beard,” said the duck man.

Beard maintenance is always a question in the minds of fans of the Robertson’s. Their beards look like they could almost be as much work as a full head of hair. Willie revealed how he keeps his beard looking handsome.

"I just run my fingers through it, stick my head out the window to dry it off after showering, and roll with it. I condition my hair, so whatever ends up dripping down into it is conditioned. It's softer than you would think,” Willie continued.

So, there you have it. The Duck Commander’s beard isn’t going anywhere, it has created an individual look, it keeps him warm on his hunting excursions, and his glamorous wife loves it. Three reasons that seem reason enough.
