Phillip lim for target, t’s only so often that a high-end fashion designer does a collaboration that allows shoppers with modest budgets to wear the designer's labels at a small fraction of the price, which is why shoppers went semi-berserk at Target stores this weekend when designer Phillip Lim’s new 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection was released.

The collection for Target, which included menswear, womenswear, and accessories went on sale in stores and online yesterday, with some pieces still available in both venues today (but get the medium satchel in black, the mini-satchel in any color whatsoever, and the $79.99 trench coats among other coveted items, out of your pretty little heads).

Although none of the in-store happenings were recorded on video (no TV cameras or video cameras were permitted in the store) a few bloggers snapped some photos of crowds standing outside, describing a Black Friday-like scene in which eager shoppers were holding smartphones ready to buy if the rush to the racks inside took too long. Handbags were, apparently, the quickest to go.

A blogger for Racked went to the Target store in Brooklyn, and gave minute-by-minute reports of what happened before the doors opened at 8 a.m. and then what happened after.
