LSU Fraternity Banner Sparks Controversy |
The message read: “Getting massacred is nothing new to Kent State.” Yeah, there’s nothing funnier than a bunch of college students being killed… According to KSLA, the fraternity has already issued an apology to Kent State. Still, LSU may decide to punish the fraternity for the distasteful banner.
University officials said in a statement: “LSU certainly does not condone this insensitive behavior and poor judgment by the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. LSU officials have spoken with the fraternity and believe that the students now understand the gravity of their actions.
The students have issued a formal apology to Kent State University. LSU is also working with local and national DKE leaders in an effort to prevent this type of behavior in the future.” This isn’t the first time that the LSU fraternity has posted a questionable banner above their door. Earlier this month, the fraternity mocked the chemical gas attack in Syria with a banner that read: “LSU vs. UAB It’s gonna be a gas. Syriasly.”
