Muppets Most Wanted: New Poster Shows Evil Kermit Look-Alike, Muppets Most Wanted will introduce audiences to Kermit the Frog’s evil doppelganger, an international criminal who will lead the Muppets on a series of adventures.
The evil lookalike, Constantine, was revealed in a new poster for the latest sequel to the Jim Henson franchise. The poster showed the entire Muppets gang along with Constantine, who was distinguished from the real Kermit by a mole on his face and a Dr. Evil pose.
In the movie, Kermit and the rest of the Muppets travel to Europe, where Kermit is mistaken for the most wanted criminal in the world. Like other Muppet films, this one is filled with cameos including the stars of the last film, Jason Segel and Amy Adams. Others rumored to be making making cameos include Diddy, Celine Dion, Tom Hiddleston, Ray Liotta, and Usher.
From Disney:
“Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.”
The poster came after a bit of re-tweaking for the movie. Originally called The Muppets…Again! the movie title was changed to Muppets Most Wanted, during the production phase.
Muppets Most Wanted is directed by James Bobbin, a veteran of the Muppets franchise.
“It’s great to be back working with the Muppets, some of them even remember my name occasionally now,” Bobbin said. As for the movie, it’s a tip of the hat to the old-school crime capers of the ’60s, but featuring a frog, a pig, a bear and a dog—no panthers, even pink ones—along with the usual Muppet-y mix of mayhem, music and laughs.”
Muppets Most Wanted is slated for release on March 21, 2014.
