Billy Ray Cyrus 'Cancels Appearance On Piers Morgan Live Last Minute Amid Controversy Over Miley's VMAs Performance'

Billy Ray Cyrus 'Cancels Appearance On Piers Morgan Live Last Minute Amid Controversy Over Miley's VMAs Performance, Billy Ray Cyrus clearly isn't ready to discuss the controversy surrounding his daughter Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards performance just yet, as the country star reportedly cancelled his scheduled appearance on Piers Morgan Live yesterday at the last minute.

Miley, 20, caused outrage on Sunday night when she joined Robin Thicke for a performance of 'Blurred Lines' at the family-friendly awards ceremony, cavorting around the stage in nothing but a nude latex bikini and twerking her bum into Robin's crotch, making for some jaw-dropping viewing.

Following intense backlash over the raunchy set, Miley's father Billy Ray was due to appear on Piers Morgan's talk show last night, however, he was a no-show and apparently cancelled with just minutes to spare.

“Billy Ray was supposed to be on the show tonight to explain his daughter's behavior, but...,” Piers told viewers according to E! Online.

Morgan Spurlock, who directed One Direction's 3D movie 'This Is Us,' chimed in: “He's got some 'splainin' to do.”

Piers continued: “I'm not sure he's quite worked out what his explanation is yet so we've decided to postpone it. We are going to get the first interview. I know he'w watching tonight, so, Billy Ray, good evening, and when you're ready, we will talk about this.”

Billy Ray may have cancelled his appearance but he is still supporting his controversial daughter, insisting that he will always be proud of the young star.

“Can't wait to see her when she gets home. She's still my little girl and I'm still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change,” Billy Ray told Entertainment News.
