Harley-davidson 110th anniversary, A countdown clock located at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI., counted down to the start of the event. When the clock hit zero, “Welcome Home” spread across a digital display and fireworks were launched.
The crowed cheered for Harley-Davidson and the Freedom Jacket, which had traveled to Harley events in Indonesia, Argentina, Germany, Japan and Mexico. The jacket was brought back to Milwaukee by Marine 1st Sgt. Timothy La Sage, reports The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
La Sage rode onto the Harley grounds on a new 2014 Project Rushmore motorcycle. Bill Davidson, great-grandson of Harley-Davidson co-founder William A. Davidson, gave La Sage the bike after he finished the traditional ride. The bike was a gift to honor the sacrifices made by La Sage and other military personal, reports ABC News.
According to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, people gathered around the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse stage for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s performance. Other bands playing at this time didn’t attract much attention. The anniversary party will last for three days and cost $95 to attend.
