Photoshopping to the Extreme: Lady Gaga's Surreal Vogue Cover

Lady Gaga Gets Touched Up for Vogue, It comes as no big shock when we discover that magazine cover images have been retouched. In fact, it's so common these days that we kind of expect nothing less. But a behind the scenes shoot with Lady Gaga has everyone talking about the extreme level of retouching going on.

On the September cover of Vogue, Lady Gaga is shown wearing a bright purple dress with a Barbie-sized waist, hollowed cheekbones and some pretty rad hair. All in all, it's nothing short of glam.

But check out the behind-the-scenes video released by Vogue, and suddenly you realize how much the images have actually been altered. In a screenshot snapped from the video footage, you see a much different version of Gaga from the shoot.

"AHHH! The Vogue Express dropped off the SEPTEMBER ISSUE yesterday morning," Gaga tweeted on August 8, right before its release. "IM A COVER GIRL, and ITS FAB! Can't wait to show u tonight!"

Which makes us wonder: Has image retouching gone too far?
