 Two arrested over 'critical' baby

A man and a woman have been arrested after a young baby was admitted to hospital in a critical condition, police said.

The boy, believed to be one-month old, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, Kent, on Thursday.

He was later transferred to King's College Hospital in London where his condition showed signs of improvement, according to police.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "Kent Police can confirm that a baby boy was admitted to hospital in Dartford at about 7am on Thursday in a critical condition.

"The baby was transferred to a hospital in London for further treatment where his condition this morning is described as showing signs of improvement.


"A 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from the Gravesend area, have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail until Thursday 8 December while inquiries continue.
