The 20-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer broke off her engagement from the "Hunger Games" actor last month. However, Cyrus is not letting heartache slow her down.
"I need to treat my music like a relationship, give it my time and all the attention it deserves and that's my main love right now," the former Disney star began to explain to Cosmopolitan magazine.
Despite being single, Cyrus added that "this is the best time of my life" before admitting that she relied on God's direction to pull her out of depression.
"I'm not going to look back on it and be like, 'I wish I hadn't been dwelling over a breakup,' you know? Because that's not that God wants my life to be about right now," said the singer. "God wants my life to be about being successful and being happy and blessing other people being blessed."
In addition to discussing Hemsworth, Cyrus addressed her many critics while speaking to Cosmopolitan magazine. The singer received backlash following her bawdy MTV VMA's performance as well as after appearing nude in her latest music video for "Wrecking Ball."
Nonetheless, Cyrus took aim at her "haters" while deeming herself a "cool punk rock underdog."
"Everything is so chaotic and crazy right now… I'm literally what everyone is talking about," she said, according to Cosmopolitan. "I don't want to say that I'm on top right now- I feel like I'm kind of an underdog in a cool way. It's almost punk rock to like me because it's not the right thing to do. Like, society wants to shut me down."
Moreover, Cyrus claims that her infamous VMA's performance alongside Robin Thicke saved the annual awards show from being a flop.
"And what I hadn't done that performance," she asked. "The VMA's would have been bad. They would have been missing something. The show was kind of making fun of how serious the pop industry is."
Meanwhile, Cyrus' latest album "Bangerz" was released on Oct. 4 and it remains among the top-selling albums on iTunes today.
