Vince young released

Vince young released, A week after the Packers released backup quarterback Graham Harrell, presumably paving the way for just-signed Vince Young to earn a roster spot, Young announced on Twitter that he too has been let go.

The team confirmed the move (and 21 others) later in the day.

The Packers may have liked Young more than Harrell, but apparently the organization likes 2012 seventh-rounder B.J. Coleman better than both.

Coleman didn't see the field last season, but he used the offseason learning the intricacies of the Packers offense.

"Just from April 15 to now, I'm a completely different player," Coleman said in early August, via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "The most important thing is I've really dived in and learned the offense so I can try and help the other 10 guys on the field.

"It's a lot better for me to go out there and really kind of feel it as opposed to last year when I was really doing more observing than anything. I'm still observing, but now I know what I'm observing. Now I'm starting to feel it."

The third-overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, Young spent the first five years of his career with the Titans before serving as Michael Vick's backup in Philadelphia in 2011, and landing in Buffalo last spring where he was eventually cut during the preseason.

 Young was out of football in 2012 but performed well at a Pro Day workout this spring, and eventually parlayed that into a one-year deal with the Packers in early August. But a few weeks later, Young again finds himself looking for work.
