j'marcus webb vikings, Offensive tackle J'Marcus Webb was arguably the biggest name cut by the Bears over the weekend as team's trimmed their rosters to 53. And he didn't even make it onto the street before being picked up by a division rival.
Webb, who was the "starting" right tackle on Ryan Wilson's All-Cut Team, was claimed off of waivers Sunday by the Vikings, the team announced.
When the Bears cut him, Webb offered up a departure message that, for some reason, cracked me up.Webb, a seventh-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, started 44 games for the Bears over the last three years but, like Gabe Carimi, clearly didn't fit in with the new regime and their desire to revamp the offensive line.
The tackle believes "change is good," as he wrote on Facebook.
"It'll be good to have a fresh start," Webb wrote on Facebook. "3 years of starting with no injuries?Ill be ok. I'm no different than many of you. Change is good."
Change will likely keep Webb on the bench. With Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt locked in as starters for the Vikings, Webb will serve as a backup for Minnesota.
