Lucas Duda surgery

Lucas Duda surgery, Lucas Duda’s hope for a bounce-back season in 2013 will now start with rehab from surgery – the Mets’ outfielder broke his right wrist moving furniture last month and had an operation to repair the fracture.
Duda is expected to be ready for the start of spring training in February. He is slated to be released from the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan later Tuesday.

Duda was a breakout performer in 2011, but sagged last season and was sent to the minors to repair his swing. In 121 games, he batted .239 with a .329 on-base percentage and .389 slugging percentage, well off his previous numbers. He also had 15 homers and 57 RBI, but was a disappointment.

Duda was hurt while moving furniture at his apartment in Southern California. His surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Weiland, the Mets’ hand specialist, the team said.
