Liposuction lowers heart risk, study says

Liposuction may help lower the risk of heart disease, a new study reveals. Researchers found that triglyceride levels dropped after patients had liposuction (learn what triglycerides do). They also found that after the procedure, the level of white blood cells dropped, which suggested a decrease in inflammation (find more ways to prevent heart disease). The results are from short-term follow-ups, and doctors are not sure if the benefits are long-lasting.
